The cherry on top!

Recently, I was invited to Michigan to preach and teach at a Church Growth conference along side one of the great Christian leaders of our day, John Ed Mathison. This kind, southern gentleman has been used by God to encourage and equip thousands of believers and Church leaders of all denominations. I was truly humbled and honored to share the Word of God with him to our fellow laborers in the North. Leading and equipping church leaders is a passion of mine. One I hope to be able to do more of in the future.

For two days we shared with gracious church leaders, toured their facilities and listened to their visions, dreams and desires. These were exciting, fulfilling moments. However, they could not be compared to what I experienced at the end of the trip.

After an eventful trip back to Kentucky, I pulled into my driveway. Before I could get out of the car, my oldest daughter ran out the door, "Hi Dad!" When I came in to the house, my youngest daughter ran in and jumped on my lap. After a few hugs and a big smile, my four year old says, "Dance with me daddy!" You should have seen us. Gliding across the Family room floor, me and my blue eyed four year old. Then it hit me. I love preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love being a Pastor to His people. I was honored and thrilled to work alongside a great Christian leader at a Growth Conference, but the cherry on top of my weekend, was dancing with my children at home.

Friends, enjoy all that life brings your way. Serve God and strive to achieve all you can. But in all you do, don't forget to enjoy the ride and don't take for granted the blessings you already have.
